Offering a full guitar repair and maintenance service is a vital part of a good guitar shop for the simple reason it gives customers ongoing support and ensures their precious instruments are performing to their best, being enjoyed and played. It is fair to say that the vast majority of guitars can greatly benefit from some professional attention if they are regularly played, perhaps stored away for a few weeks or even brand new instruments that have just been shipped from a factory in a far off country as they may have been subjected to changes in temperature, humidity or a hard life of rock ‘n’ roll on the road. The word “repair” when it comes to guitars does not always indicate there is something smashed or broken, and whilst snapped of headstocks and dead electrics are regularly seen, it is more common for an instrument to require a “set-up”. Setting up a stringed instrument typically involves re-cutting or shaping the areas subject to wear and tear such as frets and nut slots, and adjusting the array of moving parts such as bridge saddles, truss rods and pickup heights that come together to make the instrument feel like a joy.
July 5th 2015 recognises MARVEL GUITARS 366th day of existence, so allow me to offer MASSIVE thanks all those who have helped make it this far, if you’ve ever set foot in the shop, let me borrow a soldering iron or let me bombard you with daft questions about what VAT stands for , this means you. Beyond delighted to help recycle this fabulous cake and banner from California based David and Kristen Maxwell after their son had his first birthday party yesterday, feels like an international award, hope to welcome you into the L.A. branch of MG sometime, cheers guys!!
